As a not for profit organisation, all rent and other revenue paid by you to WECH are spent on the business of managing, repairing & improving the Walterton and Elgin estates. We are committed to providing social housing at affordable rents. Your rent will not be increased more than once a year. The Board reviews the rent prior to April each year. WECH will guarantee to give one-month notice of any increase in the rent.
Rents vary depending on the characteristics of your home, for example the size and the type of property, extra features (such as gardens), extra services (such as cleaning, gardening and care taking) and whether it has been refurbished or not. The utilities and the local authority will charge water rates, electricity, gas and council tax separately.
